How federal government fleets are going clean
By Yves Madore Lead Advisor for the Land Fleet - Treasury Board of Canada, Thierry Spiess Deputy Director, On Road Transportation - Natural Resources, Maddy Ewing Consultant, Dunsky Energy + Climate Advisors

Canada’s federal government is leading by example in actively electrifying its own vehicle fleets, with the goal of having its entire light-duty fleet consist of electric vehicles by 2030. For fleet operators and program leaders, this session shows what that looks like in practice and what can be applied beyond the federal government. You’ll hear how the Treasury Board’s procurement policies are structured to prioritize EV purchases, how NRCan supports fleets with planning tools, data, and site-specific charging and engineering assessments, and how departments are adapting operations while feeding real-world lessons back up the chain. Case studies span law enforcement vehicles to extreme cold-weather testing in Alert and Eureka, offering practical insight into deploying EVs from coast to coast to coast. The conversation brings together government fleets and key federal departments to share lessons learned from zero-emissions vehicles operating across very different contexts.

    Hack-Proofing your charging site
By Luis Leal eMobility Business Developer Manager - Phoenix Contact

EV charging sites are increasingly on the radar of cyber attackers as critical infrastructure. A hacked charger might shut down service, expose customer data or even trigger harmful load oscillations that stress local grids. This session gives operators a clear view of the risks — from the machine layer to IT systems — and the tools to respond. Experts will outline how to control access, safeguard communications and integrate cybersecurity standards such as CSA (IEC) 62443 and ISO 27000 so that fleets, depots, and public networks can stay resilient. Attendees will walk away with practical strategies to reduce risk and protect both their sites and the grid they depend on.

Shared fleet charging depots: Power in numbers
By Clément Sabourin Director, Sustainability & Special Projects - Nationex, Martin Archambault Business Development - Fleet Electrification, Hydro Québec, Foued Barouni Product and Solution Manager - Foresta, Frédéric Bel Director of decabornization programs - Intelcom | Dragonfly

Building charging infrastructure for one fleet is costly and time-consuming. But what if multiple fleets could share? By co-locating and coordinating charging assets, operators can cut costs and increase utilization of their often “sleeping” infrastructure – and the market as a whole can move faster towards electrification. This session dives into how shared fleet charging models are being structured today, from reserved access and rate agreements for guest fleets, to revenue and carbon credit generation for charging site hosts.

    Inside the electric distribution yard
By Chris Bennett Vice President of EV, Energy and Sustainability - Lazer Logistics

The best place to begin fleet electrification isn’t on the highway – it’s on the distribution or fulfillment centre yard. Lazer Logistics has been operating a fleet of more than 150 electric terminal tractors at more than 75 sites across North America (including multiple sites in Ontario) for large consumer packaged goods manufacturers and major retailers. Their data, based on nine years of operating electric yard trucks, shows they not only pay for themselves within a few years on the job, but also outperform diesel on safety, reliability and driver satisfaction. From cold-weather performance to lower operating costs, Lazer’s experience proves that electrifying the yard delivers measurable wins — and a positive business case for sustainable operations.

For Canadian fleets and businesses, 2026 will see the biggest incentives available from the new federal electric vehicle rebate program – up to $50,000. But there are also significant tax credits and write-offs available that are less understood. Speakers will walk through the EVAP program and clearly outline Clean Economy investment tax credit eligibility, particularly for off-road vehicles and the charging, electrical infrastructure and related investments required to run them. Attendees will learn about documentation, “available-for-use” timing and where organizations commonly leave money on the table by misclassifying assets or overlooking credits — with a practical, Canada-specific breakdown designed for finance, fleet, and procurement teams.

The megawatt unlock: The road to electrifying North American heavy freight
By Will Marshall Freight Program Manager, Electrification Coalition, Martin Archambault Business Development - Fleet Electrification, Hydro Québec, Erika Myers

To replace diesel, a Class 8 electric truck must recoup 400 kilometres of range during a driver’s typical 30-to-45-minute break – a feat that requires charging equipment capable of delivering more than 1 MW of power. While current CCS standards function well for regional delivery and depot-based return-to-base operations, they create a bottleneck for long-haul heavy freight. This session explores the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) standard and its essential role in enabling zero-emissions trucking at scale. Speakers include the Electrification Coalition, who will discuss U.S. corridors in development; Hydro-Québec, which is deploying its first megawatt charger this summer; and CharIN, who are developing the global standard for MCS. Together, they provide a practical look at how we power up our highways.

Vehicle-to-grid impacts on battery health: Guidance for fleets
By Soeren Striepe Managing Director - Striepe Battery Consult

Fleet operators are beginning to explore how bidirectional EVs can send power back to the grid or buildings, unlocking new revenue and cost-savings opportunities. But these vehicles are first and foremost working assets, and fleet owners need a clear understanding of how these grid services affect battery health over time. In this technical seminar, leading battery researcher and former Magna battery expert Soeren Striepe will take you through the latest data on battery degradation under different EV charging and discharging scenarios. Attendees will learn which strategies accelerate wear, which help preserve battery life and how fleets can participate in vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-building programs while protecting long-term asset performance.

While 2025 was a record year for public fast charging development in Canada, charging providers have faced major barriers getting stations in the ground. As former Expo speaker and behavioural scientist Loran Nordgren reminded us, progress doesn’t stall because of a lack of ambition – it stalls because of friction. Across the country, deeply embedded, system-level barriers are slowing the rollout of charging infrastructure at the speed and scale required. On the ground, that friction shows up as outdated municipal bylaws, inconsistent permitting requirements between jurisdictions, delayed utility connections or months lost to seemingly minor approvals – each adding cost, uncertainty and risk. In many cases, these delays are enough to undermine an otherwise viable private investment, and they can be especially challenging in areas that remain underserved with fast charging infrastructure. For municipalities, utilities and charging providers, this session will help you identify where friction lives in your systems and what you can do to remove it. The biggest takeaway won't be technology, but how we can modernize the processes and coordination needed to enable Canada’s electric future and unlock private charging investment.

By Gustavo Loss Vice President, Platform Sales, Xpansiv

This session provides a practical look at how credit generation works in Canada, what project types qualify and what it takes to participate. But we'll also get into the specifics: Does generating carbon credits affect my GHG reporting and carbon accounting? Are only on-road vehicles like electric trucks eligible? Is this for DC fast charging sites or do Level 2 chargers also qualify? How difficult is enrollment, and will it require significant internal resources to manage? How are credits quantified and priced, and how quickly can revenue begin to flow? Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the commercial opportunity, compliance obligations and the real-world applications where charging infrastructure can become a reliable revenue stream. Plus there will be time to answer your questions, too.

The underused EV: How fleet caution is costing performance and ROI
By Charlotte Argue Senior Manager, Sustainable Mobility, Geotab

Many fleets are still treating their electric vehicles with kid gloves – assigning them to the easiest routes, keeping state-of-charge high and putting vehicles in low-demand roles. The result: vehicles that appear costly on paper simply because they’re being used too conservatively. Using real-world data, Geotab will show how underutilization skews total cost of ownership (TCO) and masks the true capability of electric fleets. The session will highlight top-performing fleets and the best practices that optimize return on investment (ROI) and make EVs work hard for their money.
