New York City exceeded its target of reducing the emissions of its municipal fleet by 50% last year, marking one of the most dramatic demonstrations of public-sector leadership in fleet decarbonization. The city’s approach provides a practical blueprint not only for municipalities and public agencies, but also commercial operators. In this keynote, DCAS Deputy Commissioner Keith Kerman explains NYC’s bold, multi-pronged strategy that creates true transformation in the vehicle fleet – and the market. NYC has partnered with all levels of government, non-profits, utilities, commercial fleets and manufacturers to achieve its Clean Fleet goals. NYC’s approach has actionable lessons on technology adoption, supplier engagement, operational readiness and the collaborative models that can accelerate electrification at speed and scale.

You will also learn about the program’s broader education and engagement programming to help fleets build the operational knowledge needed to electrify over the coming years.
