Yichao Chen

Yichao Chen (P.Eng. CEM, CMVP, LEED AP BD+C) is the Director of Climate & Energy at Cadillac Fairview – a best-in-class owner, operator, investor and developer of real estate across retail, office, residential, and mixed-use and with more than $30 billion assets under management. Yichao is responsible for energy and emission management, climate resilience and EV strategy for CF’s commercial real estate portfolio in Canada. Yichao is a professional engineer with extensive experience in sustainable buildings, decarbonization, and associated infrastructure needs. In her previous role at the City of Calgary, she oversaw a number of public and fleet EV charging initiatives and supported the City’s fleet electrification transition strategy. Yichao has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Building Engineering, and has completed a Electric Cars Professional Certificate Program with TU Delft and the Graduate Diploma of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability from the University of Toronto.
