Integrating transportation and electricity planning will be critical to ensure our electricity system is robust, responsive, and ready for the future as EV demand increases. In this session, our panelists will discuss the innovations required to ensure capacity meets demand efficiently and economically, while minimizing risk to all sectors. From improved interconnection processes to rate design that enables electrification without overburdening the grid, we’ll explore the policies that are advancing the EV transition. We’ll also address the complexities of the planning process, where distributors are often hesitant to allocate capital due to uncertainties about future demand locations, and some of the ideas that are being explored in North America to anticipate this disruption.
