VP Sustainability, Retail Council of Canada

Michael is an international sustainable business expert, with over 20 years’ experience across North America, Europe, MENA, and Asia. His work has most recently been focused on public and private sector ESG, climate change, circular economy, extended producer responsibility (EPR) strategies, projects, cross-sectoral initiatives, and policy advocacy. As Vice President Sustainability at the Retail Council of Canada, he has actively working with the retail sector to drive decarbonization efforts, including the adoption of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), and implementing strategies to support climate goals. Michael has previously held leadership roles such as Director, Sustainability at GFL, Director, Climate Change & Sustainability Services at Ernst & Young, and Vice President of Business Development & Strategy at Bee’ah, a UAE-based integrated waste management company.
