Maxime is a pioneer and the leading expert in the electric vehicle sector. In 2017, he founded
LeadingAhead Energy, a vendor-agnostic EV charging consulting company. In a constantly
changing and vastly unregulated industry, Max sought to help Canadian businesses and
property owners install EV infrastructure that is future-proof and sustainable. He is also a
recipient of the 2022 Business In Vancouver Forty under 40 award.
As an early EV driver himself, Max understood the importance and the impact that reliable
infrastructure would have on the roll-out of EVs across the country. LeadingAhead Energy has
installed now installed over 500 charging sites across Canada and the United States, from which
Max has helped develop the industry standards for EV charging. He has also focused on
underrepresented areas and customers, designing the first handicap accessible fast-charging
site in Squamish, BC, as well as working with First Nations communities in Northern BC to help
bridge the gap in electrifying the corridor between BC and Yukon.
He is also currently advocating for responsible ownership and allocation of carbon credits,
protecting the interests of local BC landowners and developers. Max has successfully grown LAE
on his own, without any outside investment, and is now expanding further into the US market.
Max is also expanding the LAE beyond the Real Estate EV market, working with Harbour Air to
install the first charging stations for electrified sea planes in North America.
