Through its TransformTO strategy, Toronto has committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2040 and is using a wide range of tools to accelerate transportation decarbonization across the city. This session explores Toronto as a living case study: how climate budgeting and carbon accountability guide procurement decisions, how City fleet is transitioning to sustainable, resilient, net-zero operations, how municipal assets like Green P parking lots are being repurposed for new logistics models, and how partnerships – from containerized e-bike delivery hubs to shared charging for fleets – are unlocking cleaner mobility. Attendees will gain a practical look at the policies, programs, projects, and partnerships showing how cities can move beyond plans to actively shape the transition to low-carbon transportation.
