Abi Thomas is the General Manager of the Fleet Services Division for the City of Toronto, overseeing Canada’s largest municipal fleets. Under his leadership, the division delivers effective fleet management services to City divisions, agencies and corporations while prioritize safety, environmental sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Abi is currently leading the transition of Toronto’s municipal fleet to zero-emission vehicles, aligning with the city’s ambitious TransformTO targets to reduce carbon emissions and modern transportation.
Before joining the public sector, Abi held leadership roles at Penske Truck Leasing, North America’s largest private fleet, specializing in fleet management and maintenance. Earlier in his career, he served as a Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, including an international NATO deployment.
Abi holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, an MEng from the University of Toronto, and a BEng from Toronto Metropolitan University.
