Adam has been leading BCIT’s Transportation, Parking, and Grounds portfolio for the last 6 years. In that time Adam has overseen a transformation in BCIT’s parking operations to emphasize sustainability and provide a more seamless service for our diverse campus community. This includes the growth and electrification of BCIT’s vehicle fleet & equipment, an expansion of BCIT’s EV charging systems, infrastructure, and partnerships, and the digitization of all BCIT Parking operations. Away from work, Adam is a red seal chef, drummer, and continually adding to his knowledge as a horticulturalist.

    Post-secondary campuses are uniquely positioned to accelerate Canada’s EV charging rollout. With over 30,000 acres of land in BC alone, and parking lots that sit largely idle overnight, colleges and universities can serve as high-impact community charging hubs – not just for students and staff, but for fleets, condo residents and the broader public. They offer an unprecedented opportunity to scale a regional and national clean energy network using public lands. Campuses also come equipped with the operational backbone (maintenance, IT systems, and security) needed to support reliable charging. This session shares insights from the newly completed Roadmap of the Colleges and Universities EV Charging Alliance, led by Foresight and funded by BC Hydro, the City of Vancouver, UBC, SFU. The discussion will explore the opportunity for campuses to deliver services to the broader community, generating revenue for their institutions and accelerating the build out of regional and national infrastructure.
