Leya Barry is a Climate Change Supervisor for the City of Mississauga. She has over 10 years’ experience working on sustainability and climate change. Leya joined the City of Mississauga in 2017 and led the development of Mississauga’s first comprehensive Climate Change Action Plan, which was approved by Council in December 2019, and is now undertaking the update to that plan as it approaches its five-year mark in 2024. Leya has been leading the advancement of the City’s transition to zero emissions technologies since 2019.
Leya has a Master’s degree in Environmental Education and Communication from Royal Roads University and a Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in Environmental Studies and Society and Ethics, Society, and Law from the University of Toronto.
